Zazzle Gears up with Contest

In term products variety and size of active members, Zazzle has been one of the biggest on-demand virtual mall offering clothing customization services — and I can’t see why it won’t grow bigger. If acquiring Confego is believed to add on the next technology in product customization (if not cutting the competition), then the $1000 cold-hard-cash “Fake Mascot” contest is initiated to attract more people to jump into create-your-own-stuff experience.

Of course, it’s not fair to compare the prize with what Threadless and Design by Humans have to offer despite Zazzle’s financial ability to do that; I see the different league here. While some T-shirt design competitions are held for professional designers, Zazzle’s should attract wider group of people — and $1000 bucks isn’t too bad for non-professionals actually, if they win.

For now, the contest only open to US submission with winning design will be picked by Zazzle which based on number of votes, comments, fan club members and sales during the period. The contest is meant to be on-going and it already has specific blog for it [visit Zazzle Contest]

*submission deadline is 11:59 PM (PST) on Sunday, September 2, 2007
