Threadless’s Glennz Goes Indie

When most people think of Threadless, a few things come to mind. Pop culture-inspired parodies and smooth, brightly colored artwork are chief among them, largely due to the work of one man: Glenn Jones, who designs work at Threadless under the name Glennz. Chances are that many of the shirts that you most associate with the Threadless brand were made by him (his printed works include classics like Dark Side of the Garden and What Would MacGyver Do). His popularity at Threadless is huge, and even though his Happy Thoughts design just debuted on Monday, it is already well on its way to being sold out.

So when this guy, already something of a legend in the industry, decides to open his own online shirt store, it is pretty big news. The designs Glennz has chosen to offer so far are a mix of work that was submitted to Threadless and brand-new concepts, which means both old fans and new fans of his work have plenty to cheer about.

From the classical music hard rockers of Rock Me Amadeus to the Diet Coke and Mentos powered rocket in Go For Launch, there’s something for just about any fan of t-shirt humor. He’s promised to add new shirts periodically, so stay tuned to his blog for updates.
