Adventure Time for Your Torso
Maybe you’ve seen the hit cartoon short Adventure Time. It’s a funny tale of a boy and his dog (sorry, friend!) who go on great adventures. In addition to being widely watched on the internet, it also has aired on Nickelodeon and has won awards (including first place at the AISFA-East Animation Awards).
So I guess it’s not surprising that this video, renowned for its humor and visual gags, would make the leap to the t-shirt medium. For a limited time, 12 designs based on the cartoon are offered, featuring the video’s best characters and moments. From Lincoln to the unicorn to Pen and Jake themselves, the gang’s all here. Rhombus!
Other videos that have made the leap from Youtube to fabric include Charlie the Unicorn and Chris Crocker. Could this be a growing trend?

Yes, as long as there are people who want to show the world that they are familiar with the latest trend, meme, celebrity gossip, or trash culture icon (like Crocker) there will be a market for shirts with them on it. It is the non-academic version of the “I study typography/chemistry/physics/whatever and I want to show off what I know with this shirt” phenomenon. It’s also not much different from wearing a Jets, Red Sox, or Red Wings jersey — it’s a way of declaring yourself part of a group.
