Teefury: Shirts For One Day Only

Teefury recently joined the ranks of online shirt shops that offer a daily deal (a genre that has also included Shirt.Woot, Shirt-a-Day, and Uneetee). Unlike the rest though, at Teefury you really do only have one shot at a purchase- after one day of sales, the full rights to the design revert back to the artist. That means that no matter how much you plead, beg and argue, Teefury simply can’t offer a reprieve if you miss the shirt you want, no matter what the reason.

This strategy has been successful so far in allowing them, though new, to attract a high level of talent. Already big t-shirt design names like Jimiyo (the artist behind today’s shirt, Sawdust & Diamonds, which is pictured above), Tom Burns and Wotto have contributed their work, with more to come. Because of Teefury’s willingness to revert the rights back to the artist, those with successful shirts are free to resell the art or reprint it on their own at a later date, making this site a great venue for raising funds.

Artists aren’t the only ones to benefit from this system- the artist payment structure lets them pay based on number of shirts sold, which keeps prices nice and low for customers. At a rate of just $9 per shirt ($11 with shipping), there are some great deals to be had on work by artists whose designs typically sell for at least twice that amount.
