High Class Horror at DeKay
DeKay is a new horror-themed clothing line, and they’re launching in a big way- their first collection features work by Godmachine and Wotto, both big name illustrators in apparel design.
Fist Full of Skulls is a great design because of how subtle the branding is- the DeKay logo is there, but it’s well-integrated into the piece which means it stays a very wearable design even for those who stay away from logo-centric shirts. There’s some really amazing artistry on display, with nice textures on the vines as they snake through the distressed skulls. I also like the mysterious hand- it gives a greater sense of menace to the scene.
Know Your Enemies, though, is probably the most unique design- perhaps due to the fact that its illustrator is more known for his cartoon-inspired work that the horror genre. The warrior drawing is very original, using pattern and clean linework to create what seems like a modern take on an ancient idea.
For more information on DeKay, check out their MySpace page- based on that page, it looks like a shirt from Corefolio is on its way soon.
