DaWanda is an online market place to trade unique, customized and (most of the time) handmade products made by indie artists. Can be seen as equivalent to Etsy in US, DaWanda are gaining popularity throughout Europe with buyers and sellers come from the region.
The website available in three languages German, French, and English-British (with more languages to come). Another thing that makes DaWanda so Europe-ish is having bank transfer as preferred payment method -- most common methods of payment across Europe; although payment is also available when the seller approves.
I won't bore you with DaWanda's profile itself, instead I'd like to share some indie tee brands I found on DaWanda.
Fashion oriented brand with details given to prints and manually dyed fabric. Its apparel (including tees, tanks and dresses) made with Italian cotton jersey and mixed textiles from Spain. DollKiller's designs are made from its home base in Berlin. One interesting product is the asymmetrical violet tee shirt hand as you see on the left thumbnail.
Jody Sternhagen, the brains behind Apple Noggin, created all things cartoon that look cute and girly. While hand sewn plushy pins and barrettes, sweet jewelry, etc. are what populate Apple Nogin catalog -- there are few screen printed tees with graphics hand drawn by Jody herself.
Every Little Counts is a small LA-based clothing line with specialty in girly T-shirts who are complex and independent while also flirtatious and romantic. A girl who daydreams, fantasizes, and falls in love. Simply said, Every Little Counts takes "love" as its theme for every product it designs.
All T-shirts designs are creation of graphic artist Przemek Debowski and her wife, Magda who are based in Krakow, Poland. While working on book covers, can be seen on www.octavo.pl, he wanted to make something that would entirely depend on his ideas. Panzerstar takes social-culture issue and personal sentiment as its focal point, combining witty slogasn and graphic characters
