Zip Up Hoodies and Tees: Perfect Matches for a Warmer Winter
Winter is a favorite season of mine because of how gorgeous the world looks under a layer of snow and icicles, but it definitely has some draw backs. Chief among those is that it’s often too cold to wear my favorite article of clothing, the t-shirt.
Sweaters might be warm and cozy, but those knitted graphics just can’t compare to the sheer cool factor of a great screenprint. So instead of jettisoning your tee collection for the season, invest in some cool zip up hoodies and continue displaying your great taste in shirts.
Enclothe recently released Marioflauge, which I think is the most impressive gaming-themed hoodie the world has ever known. The all-over print is attractive, colorful and instantly recognizable, and the construction is full of great little extras (I especially dig the thumb holes and the interior iPod pocket). Paired with Threadless’s classic This Is Not a Pipe, it lets the world know that you’re just as knowledgeable about art and style as you are about video games.
Call of the Wild is a Threadless hoodie with a great eighties style. Seeing the reflection of the city in that bear’s shades is enigmatic, but when you unzip the hoodie to reveal Design By Humans’s Epic Battle it all makes sense. With a pastel battle raging between all kinds of wild animals, it’s no wonder that the bear is weighing his options and contemplating a move.
Seibei’s Omnivorious is a huge and very amusing print of a dino silhouette- a perfect match with the tee they also offer, Superpredators. But if being fully clothed in one shop’s apparel feels a bit cheesy to you (or even if you already wear both and are looking for another option), then look no farther that Run Away at Dinosaurs Ate My Shirt. Two layers of our favorite prehistoric reptiles and two takes on the humor inherent in those extinct beasts means that you’ve added value to your winter look.
