Cottonable x Tolky Monkys Micro-story Contest: Win Free T-Shirts!
Feeling creative today? Why don’t you help Tolky Monkys creating a name and micro-story for its new character while giving yourself a chance to win free shirt?
If you never heard about Tolky Monkys, what a shame! (just kidding), it’s a Madrid, Spain-based clothing label whose tee shirts collection built upon a number of fictional cartoon characters (and their own story) uniquely created by Tolky Monkys artists. Although these guys are so creative with new characters launched every season, sometime they get stuck with the idea of character’s name and its story… And this is why they need your help!
This month Tolky Monkys will release this “blue-skinned, red-nosed” character illustrated holding a gun calmly. The problem is they need your help to come out with ideas of what is the best name (and story) for this dude:
You can find an example name and story over here — but we need something more creative! If you ask me… I’ll give this dude a name: Agent Bluerryednosed. I imagine him as a secret agent given task By TolkyCity’s Police Department to handle nightly criminal cases in town, involving intruders from from “the other planet” … And the story goes on.
To win a free T-shirt or polo shirts from Tolky Monkys, simply leave comment below (yes on this blog) with a name and/or short story for this character. For the story, it must contain maximum 250 words (remember it´s just a micro story, so don’t work to hard!).
On October 22nd, the contest will be closed and among all the received proposals they will choose: ONE best name and ONE best story.
What the prize here? For each one winner, there will be a pack of 4 Tolky Monkys items among the new collection to be released on October. They´ll choose 2 more people from this blog that will win a surprise t-shirt or polo shirt.

- First, you can write about this contest on your personal blog… With one condition that your blog must be 6 month-old or older (I hope you have one!). Baldomero era un ladron como otro cualquiera. Bancos, joyerías, pastelerías… lo típico. Pero le sentaba muy mal que hubiera compañeros de profesión que se le adelantaran, asique decidió luchar contra ellos. Y llegó el día. Le pidieron que detuviera al último que quedaba… que era ni más ni menos que él mismo. La gente espera ansiosa el momento, los niños juegan a emular la batalla, las empresas huelen el dinero de una serie o una película sobre Baldomero…
¿qué pasará al final? La presión nunca podrá con nuestro héroe…

Story:
He is the last of his kind; an immortal confectioner of the ancient Numnum people. He walks the streets of your town with only his trusty Flavor Goop(tm) dispenser, an emo t-shirt, and a secret. Catch him on a good night and he’ll tell you stories of his travels; the mountains he’s climbed, the legends he’s met, words of wisdom from the great minds of our civilization. Hell, he might even tell you how to make flavor goop at home and avoid the sky-high markup.
But there are no good nights. Business is bad. No one wants Extreme Blueberry Fizz-Foam at 2 in the morning. Well, no one who can pay. So he just keeps walking… walking and dispensing goop into the air. That’s how you’ll find him. Follow the goop.

Story: It’s tough being Jewish in a city full of monsters. Well, its tough living in a city full of monsters period but it’s even worse when you’re Jewish. Not only are you constantly under attack but to make it even worse they’re anti-Semitic. It got so bad he had to start carrying a gun with him wherever he went. Not a pea shooter either. We’re talking about a full size heavy duty piece of equipment here that shoots out blue flames in the form of lion heads. You can’t buy these at the grocery store. Anyways monster patrol is kind of a hassle living in monster city because it basically means you shoot anything that moves and some things that don’t just for good measure. Being outside all the time gave him a perpetual stuffy red nose but on the bright side he’s got nerves of steel and is such a good shot he doesn’t even have to open his eyes anymore. He gets made fun of sometimes because of his big red nose but the gun seems to help smooth things over. All in all things aren’t going too bad for the sultan of sapphire, the czar of cerulean, the prince of periwinkle, except for that nose. He really needs to get that checked out.
