I seriously can’t believe that it has been that long, but I’m so happy to see where the company is now. It seems like only yesterday that I discovered Threadless. Back in 2005, the site looked much different, but the designs were still just as great. I remember the first design that caught my eye was Strangers With Candy by Ryan Smith. I also remember that the guys t-shirts used to be printed on Fruit of the Loom blanks. Just that alone tells us how far the art t-shirt industry has come, since pretty much every brand prints on soft ringspun cotton these days (and I’m definitely not complaining!). While the guys shirts were printed on FOTL, the girls shirts were printed on American Apparel. Oh, the days of wondering why both shirt styles weren’t printed on soft American Apparel…

But anyways, what I really want to say is happy 10 year anniversary, Threadless! You’ve been an amazing creative force in the tee industry, and I thank you for letting us see just how great the graphic t-shirt world can be. Allowing user input and creating a warm and welcoming community for t-shirt and art fans was brilliant. I hope that I will see the company doing even bigger and better things in 10 years!
