Nobody Listens to You Anymore, Cassettes.
Cassettes took off in the Seventies, changed lifestyles by popularizing music on the go. Pre-recorded cassettes went on sale in Europe in 1965, and from the Seventies to the Nineties became one of the most common formats on which to buy music.
But unfortunately for Mr. Cassette, in recent years the digital music revolution has pressed pause on the old-fashioned practice of listening music.
The cassette was dumped long ago by the music industry while an MP3 can travel around the globe within hours of release, tapes inhabit the cloistered world of the true underground – although, ironically, most are sold online.
So long cassettes, nobody listen to you anymore… but I’ll wear this tee shirt for the sake of keeping the memory of you in my heart.
