Fashion and music lovers in Bury St Edmunds can now support charity and their favorite bands at the same time. This is all thanks to Out of the Woods Clothing a new local business with national ambitions.
Out The Woods Clothing is an independent clothing label, innovative clothing range selling quirky graphic T-shirts where 100% of British Heart Foundation. This concept uniquely fuses fashion, music and charity, and is all set up by four friends who are still at university, Richard Mutimer, Olly Page, Andy Waterhouse and Oli Shilling, from Bury St Edmunds.
They decided to set up a wearable clothing range in November 2011, after Richard Mutimer and Olly Page have recently returned from a 3 month trip to South Africa working in schools teaching P.E. They were both inspired by their trip and have decided to release a t shirt in aid of the school using the schools motto ‘Scientia Causa’ as inspiration. At first, 100% of their profit goes to a charity supporting children with brain damage, now the support everyone living with heart disease.
Oli Shilling designs their very original range with David Litchfield, an illustrator; they are committed to improving the lives of others, incorporating their love for music along the way by featuring exclusive designs from local musicians and new and established bands like Bear Cavalry, Bastille and Black Sands.
After three successful lines, they announce their Autumn 2012 range. The range features art by Mercury Prize nominees Alt-J, Oxford based quartet Stornoway, folk rockers To Kill a King and Ipswich based The Cads, focusing heavily on producing clothes with a story behind them. Buying their t-shirts means that you’ll be supporting both bands and everyone living with heart disease, and know that you’re making a real difference. Out the Woods are set to re-stock most of their entire range in the next two weeks, including a tee designed in aid of a school in South Africa.
It’s a genuinely good cause and some pretty fine threads too.
