First, Neil deGrasse Tyson is an American astrophysicist and science communicator which obsessively studied astronomy in his teens, and eventually even gained some fame in the astronomy community by giving lectures on the subject at the age of fifteen.
He was once applied for the study and research of the Universe at Cornell University. Somehow his application grab Dr. Carl Sagan attention of the late, and Dr. Sagan initiatively contact him, and tried to recruit Tyson to Cornell for undergraduate studies. But then, Tyson chose to attend Harvard University. Still, Carl Sagan give him influences in studying astronomy.
He was very inspirational and a most powerful influence. Dr. Sagan was as great as the universe, an effective mentor.
Secondly, More than three decades after it aired, Carl Sagan’s groundbreaking, brilliant 13-part TV series Cosmos:A Personal Voyage will finally get a sequel. It was announced on August 5, 2011, that Tyson will be hosting a new sequel to Carl Sagan’s Cosmos: A Personal Voyage television series. Cosmos: A Personal Voyage is a thirteen-part television series written by Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan, and Steven Soter, with Sagan as presenter.
The series was notable for its groundbreaking use of special effects, which allowed Sagan to seemingly walk through environments that were actually models rather than full-sized sets. Since the sequel takes time, it’s not scheduled to air until sometime in 2013.
The producers of the show promise that it will makes the viewer go to other worlds and travel across the universe for a vision of the cosmos on the grandest scale. The most profound scientific concepts will be presented with stunning clarity, uniting skepticism and wonder, and weaving rigorous science with the emotional and spiritual into a transcendent experience.
So… how this equation works? Perhaps, we can understand from what Tyson was think:
I guess we can call it a meme, was the picture arithmetic where it had a picture of Carl Sagan and a picture of Lando Calrissian. And Sagan plus him equals me. Although, I would never rat on my friend like Lando did. But that was real geeky creativity. You had to know Lando, plus he has a mustache and I have a mustache. I don’t carry a gun.
