Go Ape has just released their new line, a vintage tee by Joshua Kemble who tells a story about pretension which has been around us since the first. Some regard it as pressure, there is also considered as a trigger.

It is shown on the design of Pretension Vintage ($ 18.00) which is written “Utilizing a vaster knowledge of fine music, art, and literature to humilitate the common man”. It became obvious that in antiquity, vast knowledge of art, music and literature will make someonelook more superior than people who do not have such knowledge.

This vintage shirt is designed by Joshua Kemble, a freelance illustrator based on Oregon. He’s a Xeric Award winning freelance illustrator/cartoonist who’s done work for clients ranging from Nada Surf to Merrill Lynch. He’s currently working on a Graphic Novel for NBM Publishing, and his last comic numb, is available in it’s second printing, from his website. Even he has won several times a Threadless competition.

Here are three designers of MySoti who show their latest designs on the theme of robots. Do you still remember with a robot that must be spinned to make it move? The name of the robot is Edward, a seasoned mechanic, and he knows that destructron would be screwed once his wrench got a hold of him. It is created by thestateofthings , who has been working as an illustrator since 2005, gaining experience as an editorial illustrator for publications such as The Common Review and ZEIT Magazin, and has won two awards. Everybody loves spring! To celebrate, Seventh Ink release their latest designs of 2010 Spring Line.

Seventh Ink tees are designed by Matthew Johnson who obsessed with illustration and t-shirts. He decided to start up his own independent shirt label on 2007 and bring his designs to life. The name comes from his graphic design business, Seventhfury Studios, which is his other creative outlet for art and illustration.

And the cutest one, Luv Me For Me T-shirt ($24.00) which tells about love.

We know that comic is everlasting. But have you ever imagine the hand-painted webcomic that turning into a tee design and get printed? I find it cute! It’s Frank Gibson as an illustrator and creator of Tiny Kitten Teeth which is updated at least three times a week. But he’s not alone. There’s also Becky Dreistadt as a creator, and they have been making comics together for 5 years. The main fellow in the comic, Mewsli, shares a name with their actual one-year old cat.

And now you not only find the comic to read, but also to be worn as a t-shirt! These are two funny comic t-shirt design from Frank Gibson. On other hand, he is fond of pranks and tricks, especially with its ability to disappear and reappear.

While working as typographer is not quite appreciated as doctor or lawyers, you know the requirement of becoming the true font artist. It took years of observing the pattern and the beauty of each sketch and stroke of line drawings to master such knowledge.

Typography has already existed for centuries. The kind of Roman or Serif fonts has been known since the original time of alphabet. With enormous leaps on this modern technology era, creating new font may lies to the creativity of the designer. Constructing it only need one click away. Computer can finish what has been started.

Cotton replaces plastic as clothing labels look out for a greener world

So, here’s the thing… A T-shirt is no longer tagged with just a piece of plastic with a barcode stamped on it. Instead you might find an embossed shield woven onto a piece of brightly coloured fabric. A dress will be tagged with a beautiful peacock with an intricately stitched tail. The right label tag can change the perception of the buyer. It shows care and an infinite amount of detail and attention that has been paid, down to the smallest detail.

If a tag was made with so much precision, something that would most likely be discarded after purchase, imagine the detail the manufacturer must have paid to the piece of clothing itself. Imagine a gorgeous delicate set of underwear – which tag would you prefer on it, a minimal plastic one, that you’re in constant fear will snag a bit of lace and unravel the whole ensemble, or an equally delicate piece of fabric stitched and matched to the bra?

Just getting a piece of cloth to replace plastic may not be enough. Sure, you’re even doing your bit for the environment. A lot of manufacturers are now opting for specifically cotton labels. In a perfectly environmentally conscious world, even the designers have realised the potential beauty of a material that was once upon a time so plebeian.

So Hermès, usually known for their silk, has designed a line of cotton scarves for Liberty. They’re chic, affordable and, most importantly, environmentally sustainable. Using a cotton label isn?t that big a commitment, but it does make a difference. Woven labels immediately conjure up a specific outlook – someone has cared enough for their product and their environment. Companies have designers working specifically on individual clothing tags that convey a brand?s aesthetics as well as its conscience.

The next time you come home shopping with a trolley full of goodies, don’t be surprised if you find yourself snipping off the clothing tag to tuck it away in your drawer instead of tossing it into the dustbin. Who knows when inspiration strikes and you want to fill in the colouring book that came attached to your jeans or stitch on the appliqué of the multicoloured peacock on a plain white tee? Inspiration can strike from anywhere, so we won’t blame you if you pick up a pair of trousers purely because its cloth tag looked too good to pass up.

Well, this guy is absolutely passionate about his design. Created by Sean Mort a.k.a stothemofob, The Gaming Revolution t-shirt is dazzling with tons of gaming object designs.  Well not only joysticks, there are handheld game devices too. This design, according the creator, resembles the revolution from NES era to current PS3/Wii/XBOX360 era.

If the first game handheld (and its joystick) was released in 1980, this shirt may mark the 20 years of game present. If we do analogy with human’s life, 20 years old is a transition phase from teenage to adulthood, from 8-bit era to past 128-bit era, from ROM cartridge to Blu-ray disc.

The first time I see this Mr Typeface tee (£15) I thought, “He must be handsome, classy, and a great poetry writer!” Just look at his vest and the way he hold himself together! Tim Burton is a well known director especially for his Gothic theme in every movie he directs. One movie that will approach us is Alice in Wonderland. Approximately, the movie will be premiered starting next week, based on the classic novel by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (under pseudonym Lewis Carroll). The actual published date of the novel was on 1865, since then there are lot of movies made based on the characters.

The news about earthquake struck Haiti recently definitely blew our mind. Haiti is the poorest country in the region and solving this problem all alone is nearly impossible. They need our help. One of respected t-shirt maker, Threadless, is trying to knock t-shirt fans empathy by creating this superb shirt. All sales made from this shirt will be donated to Haitian through American Red Cross.

Can you read the sentence written in this design? I had trouble too reading it. Apparently it’s written in Creole language, one of official language in Haiti (beside French). It reads as “Men anpil chay pa lou” and can be translated as “Many Hands Make the Load Lighter”. They can’t solve this humanity problem alone and they need us. World’s hand on this matter definitely will a relief to their pain.

I don’t recognize most of “animals” pictured in this group shot, I reckon most of them resemble “cats” (or the likes), an animal looks like “sheep”, but I can’t tell which one in specific. I bet most of you (if not all) use Google Maps to search for location. One new feature that helps us a lot is the marking legend to mark anything that interest us. Elena Gallen, a visual artist located in Barcelona that already well known with her bleeding nose Kate Moss and the double headed Bambi design tee, is now releasing new designs. She’s collaborating with French brand Kulte on this limited edition of t-shirts collection “The Final Day” which theme is the end of the world. That’s exciting. Who haven’t watch 2012?! Sesame Street is celebrating its 40th season. Halloween is just around the corner and everyone wants to take their part to make this planet a little bit creepier. It’s strange that indie clothing label Crywolf choose to turn its wolfie mascot into a zombie instead of a werewolf. Hmm… I was thinking that perhaps becoming a zombie is one of the least complicated undead experiences. And there are many ways when you choose the zombie path: like voodoo curse, viral transmission or inject yourself with the zombie virus.

Becoming a zombie may not be as glamorous as becoming a romantic-vampire or muscular-werewolf but at least we don’t hear many zombies complaining about their afterlife . Drawing is a lovely activity. Everyone is doing it — from little kids, art students to experienced artists and professionals (like architects and engineers) — either when we need to get serious works done or doing something fun like sketches in the margins of their notebooks just to kill some times.

However,a clothing label like Draw Ltd. takes drawing-awesomeness to the next level. From its perspective, all drawings are art and thus all of them should get their moment in the sun. It’s certainly true that drawing, being less polished than most modern-digital art, can be incredibly remarkable (when artists’ magic hands involved!). Because they weren’t just meant for public’s viewing pleasure, they exhibit a freedom that other art can’t match.

Draw Ltd.’s monster-themed collection is proving that drawing can hold their own on a t-shirt. After introduced previous collection Monster Clusterf**k, Lenny and Carrotman (now out of stock) — its newest t-shirt (conceptualized and created) by Jordan Buckley shows us that even sketches can get a lot of mileage out with right dose of coloring.

But maybe… it’s because Mr. Buckley, who is also the guitarist for hardcore band Every Time I Die, is not one-time doodler. Saw another extremely-shredded tee by Obesity and Speed, a NY-based fashion label which specialized in cutting-edge, urban-inspired streetwear for women. Obesity and Speed’s shreddy tee featuring a slightly sheer fabric with shredded part on the back, makes it an overly sexy-but-somewhat-messy street dress made for only highly confident ladies. Producing this tee need a special attention indeed; because the tailors would have to torn the garment one line at a time — maybe that’s how Obesity and Speed should justify the price (fyi, it’s no less than $143 at Revolve Clothing!)


Now we’re talking about shredded T-shirts, I want to ask have you ladies caught on to this trend? I find it insanely cool to see a girl wearing it — like it or not, it’s really hard not to stare at her. But does anyone else love this style? A friend of mine told me that it seems like shredded tee are ridiculously fragile, and even on the excellent lighting of professionally-taken photos, they look like something chewed on them. But one advice I heard, regarding fragility of this kind of tee, they’re totally safe and strong even to wash them in the washing machine if we put them in a washing net. What’s your take then?

Flux Collection’s WE T-shirt is an adaption of artwork by Carrie Schneider entitled WE which was exhibited from Oct 17 – Dec 6, 2008 at Monique Meloche Gallery in Chicago, IL. First, there was the Three Wolf Moon — Amazon.com’s T-shirt sensation, if not just a best seller, that hit the mass after product reviewers started leaving ‘joke’ reviews for it, started by a dude name B. Govern “Bee-Dot-Govern”. To date, there are now over a thousands of comment for this product! The reviews of a T-shirt that sold by created by New Hampshire company called The Mountain, spread virally (including one YouTube video featuring a Three Wolf Moon song has been created which was parody of Pocahontas soundtrack) and resulted this tee making hundreds of sales in a week, beating more than all the other t-shirts on Amazon combined.

That’s a calling! Well, I know that can’t be a case for every one. A senior of mine confessed that she sold her soul to the devil (back when his self-worth was defined by a paycheck) when she worked for two big corporates at two different times — as financial staff working like almost 16 hours a day. Was it fun for her? Not really (not me saying so but that what was she told me, anyway). Did the job pay the bills? Yep. Corporate politics made everything even worse as she told some ugly stories. Was she miserable? Absolutely!

I can’t blame people who do it for money, while others look for fame — but I think we should go out of our passion… You will never feel like working, you will feel like you’re playing in workplace! Of course — the best thing is when you can get all of them in your hand: doing what you really love, while getting paid with that big fat paychecks and receive “right dose of fame” since you’re doing your job very well. A perfect world (that doesn’t exist for everyone), isn’t it?

It’s been a while since I featured tee shirts from one of the most crowded ongoing tee shirt design competition on the internet, Design by Humans (DBH). I can talk about their new tees every week because of two things: one, these designs have been tightly selected by DBH competitive contest (almost comparable to Threadless to some extent); two, these designs are simply outstanding when it comes to experimental, cutting-edge graphic tee shirts! But I need to look for other tee labels too, giving too much attention to DBH might not be healthy for us

I know it’s been pretty late to talk about St. Patrick’s Day tees; but if I could go back to few weeks before March 17th, I would make sure to visit Teesforall.com to check some St. Patricks Day T-shirts. Every year, I hunt for “green” T-shirt of the year by scouring all over the internet and visit some favorite places like Threadless, Busted Tees and some other officially-licensed tees seller like StylinOnline.com and 80stees.com.

Just few days ago a realized I miss one shop that I should visit before the St. Patrick’s Day which is Teesforall.com. The online store has a bunch of funny tees I have never seen before — especially from the Family Guy TV show like Beer Pong Champion, Peter Plus Beer Can and Lucky Dog Brian Tee Shirt. There are also some collectibles Guiness T-shirts and funny (rather offensive) St. Patrick’s Day slogan like those that say “Irish Rub Me For (F)Luck”, “Irish You Were Beer” and “Lucky Enough to be Irish”.

Now a little bit about TeesForall.com. As I find on their “about us” page, the New York based company has been in T-shirt business since 2003. They sells all over side-splittingly funny tees with expanding collection from beers-and-liquors tees, to political, humor, holidays and movies and music tees. You can even find some vintage kiss t-shirts as well as acdc t-shirts. Best of all, most (if not all) of their shirts are officially licensed. Nice!

What if Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and friends from the famous Looney Tunes come together to bake the cupcakes? You can’t imagine how messy the kitchen will be! Procrastination… Here we go again. We have come to endless ways to kick the bad habit. And thanks to Facebook (oh yeah this website is currently on my #1 list), Twitter, MySpace, Internet Messenger, Wikipedia, YouTube, etc. it’s even harder get ourselves back on scheduled tasks.

Recent study shows that almost everyone occasionally procrastinates, but a worrisome 15 to 20 percent of adults routinely set aside activities that would be better accomplished right away — yes, believe it or not.

Now, that makes me think that most of us could major in the subject, if only it was worth credit or maybe — just like what this slogan Twitter-Threadless tee ($18) says — there’s another part in this galaxy where procrastination is a marketable skill in a workplace.

But you all know the reality. Most of us are only good at finding another reason to procrastinate. Maybe clicking through this blog is your procrastination strategy for this morning. What are other procrastinate strategies you can think of?

Funky Koreatown is a cool online store where you can find nicely designed, funny and unique Korean related T-shirts — especially if you missed any good local tee during your last trip to Korea or if you like to learn the language and culture of the vibrant country. The guys at Funky Koreatown spend a lot of time creating bold & colorful designs related to Korean humor, pride and food.

For instance, there’s Got Bulgogi? tee ($18.69 — discount price) which taken from the word “Bulgogi” (or Fire Meat in English); It is a way of cooking beef marinaded in soy sauce, sugar and other ingredients traditionally over an open flame. So this was a confession I heard from a fellow girl who is gifted with heavenly look:

Besides glares from the boys, pretty girls hate when they attract weirdoes like an electric magnet. She can’t even remember how many different type of creeps that have come on to her in some inviting ways.

There are lots of ugly examples: some have come right up to her (she recalled it like a scene in thriller movie), some have followed at night, and some have shouted at her from a distance — for no reason but to get her attention. Other times, she been chased through empty streets, train subways, stores.

There was even a time when she and another girl were running through subway cars from the same guy, lol… That was crazy!!! To some it might seem like the shallowest conversation ever, but talking about taking public transportation alone, day or night, is especially dangerous for a pretty girl like her.

When RVCA women tee ($27) says “Being pretty really screwed me up” — I can’t be more agree. Gee, I could be one of those creeps. You can’t blame me thought, pretty girls and all their features could really hypontize me; and when it happens I just can’t control myself

Who doesn’t love a piece of french toast? Especially when you make the bread yourself one day in the morning. Here’s how I like it: a simple basic bread prepared without using any salt then cooked slowly; no butter but vegetable oil instead. I brushed a little on the skillet! Don’t laugh but that’s how I like it. How about you?

Now let’s imagine having this bread like Picasso with his little beret and mustache… ready to paint your colorful day. Something like what Jessica Hill was doodling one day and it made me laugh. This fitted purple tee, available on Hot Topic ($22), features an adorable piece of artsy-look French toast with a mustache and beret. “I eat chumps like you for breakfast!”

Here’s the lates update from one of the biggest yearly T-shirt compatition, The Design By Humans 10K. It has just come to a close, claiming csj89 and his design Mecha-Labaw as the big winner of the $10,000 prize… Hoorrayy!

Mecha-Labaw (odd name, huh?) was inspired by Carabao (or Kalabaw), a water buffalo often used by farmers in agricultural country, Philipines — an animal which has been long considered as a national symbol. Interesting story is not the only clue that help this design win the prize; it’s its intricate, vectored detail and huge print, collected the most votes of all the top four designs.

IBut csj89 wasn’t the only finalist to walk away with a big prize- 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place, and 5th place were also printed, each earning their designers a print and a nice pay check.

Indeed, these designs are not to be missed: CollisionTheory claimed second place with Twilight Rain, a colorful riff on nature. Third place went to TangYauHoong and his design Journey to the City of No Horizon, which paints a picture of a a city cleft in two by a river made of sky. Gloopz’s SOS Strawberry Flavor (this one was my favorite out of all designs!) nabbed 4th with its unique mix of style and laid-back humor. And in fifth place was the distinctive Umibozu by thestray, a spooky seascape based on Japanese folklore. See them all only on Design by Humans!

Looking back to my teenage years… Still fresh on my mind this girl I like at school. She knew how I liked her so much. I wasn’t one hundred percent sure but I noticed she was flirting with me from the time I showed signed of liking her. For example, she played with a pen in her mouth while we were talking or twirled her ponytail between her fingers when she was chatting to me.

It confused me, why on earth a girl would flirt with a guy if she knows he likes her but she doesn’t like him at all? I thought she’s a good person… I can’t imagine her being so cruel. Of course, when you like someone — everything s/he does cannot go wrong.

Stop gossiping about Michael Jackson’s dead body… instead let’s talk about MJ’s famous dance move that shook the music world in 1982. The then famed 14-minute music video from the album’s “Thriller” track inspired many to learn how to do the zombie dance. C’mon… Don’t be shy, tell me you were one of them!

Not a natural dancer, I realize the dance is too complicated and fairly difficult to master, but a little practice will help us master the moves. There are lots of tutorial videos out there to help you practice, what people need to do is avoid mental thinking that only pro-dancer could do this dance.

Better if you can find a group of friend to learn the dance together, after all, practice it alone must no be fun.
