Sloths are quite fascinating creatures, and I have a fun time watching them when I’m at the zoo. Of course, they’re never doing much, since I don’t think they’re capable of being busy. I wonder how long it takes for them to move 50 feet! One thing that I’ve noticed, however, is that while their movements are slow, sloths do not take their sweet time when they’re eating. It takes a while for a sloth to reach for food and bring it back to its mouth for consumption, but once the food is in good position, the sloth chows it down like there’s no tomorrow!

What I find to be wonderful about the piece is that if it were a real sloth hanging on a branch on your shirt, it’ll probably still be in the same place for a while, similar to the permanence of this illustration. Go Ape has just released their new line, a vintage tee by Joshua Kemble who tells a story about pretension which has been around us since the first. Some regard it as pressure, there is also considered as a trigger.

It is shown on the design of Pretension Vintage ($ 18.00) which is written “Utilizing a vaster knowledge of fine music, art, and literature to humilitate the common man”. It became obvious that in antiquity, vast knowledge of art, music and literature will make someonelook more superior than people who do not have such knowledge.

This vintage shirt is designed by Joshua Kemble, a freelance illustrator based on Oregon. He’s a Xeric Award winning freelance illustrator/cartoonist who’s done work for clients ranging from Nada Surf to Merrill Lynch. We know that comic is everlasting. But have you ever imagine the hand-painted webcomic that turning into a tee design and get printed? I find it cute! It’s Frank Gibson as an illustrator and creator of Tiny Kitten Teeth which is updated at least three times a week. But he’s not alone. There’s also Becky Dreistadt as a creator, and they have been making comics together for 5 years. The main fellow in the comic, Mewsli, shares a name with their actual one-year old cat.

The tee design by Hansomoto (Hannes Hummel) displayed on the ARDT’s webpage, Is This Trully Wonderland ($35.00) is my favorite one, because it shows a very great art work. Details are highly considered by the designer to make this tee design very interesting. Who could resists this tee? I can’t.

Hannes Hummel started his career as a digital media designer in an advertising agency in Trier, Germany, working on several graphic design projects. Besides commercial work, he also has developed his work as an independent graphic designer under the name Hansomoto, frequently collaborating with other graphic designers. Hot Topic is in competitor line by bringing the entire army with its licensed gears, not only about clothes, but also tons of other things. Four pages of Alice in Wonderland goodies, surely at least one or two clothes will attract your taste. Again, I am sorry, these collections are only for women.

Here are some tee design that I love most. First one is called Curiouser tee ($22). This design really depicts the other side of Johnny Depp’s Mad HatterCheshire cat. Well, from the movie trailers, you can guest that this character is actually quite mysterious and charmingly curious. On other hand, he is fond of pranks and tricks, especially with its ability to disappear and reappear.

The other one is this queen, Red Queen tee ($22). I like the combination of V-neck, bleached red background, and arrogant pose of the queen herself. While working as typographer is not quite appreciated as doctor or lawyers, you know the requirement of becoming the true font artist. It took years of observing the pattern and the beauty of each sketch and stroke of line drawings to master such knowledge.

Typography has already existed for centuries. The kind of Roman or Serif fonts has been known since the original time of alphabet. With enormous leaps on this modern technology era, creating new font may lies to the creativity of the designer. Constructing it only need one click away. Computer can finish what has been started.

A colouring book, a peacock, a crested shield, dog tags and medallions – what could they possibly have in common? Well, how about the fact that they’re label tags for various lines of clothing? Fashion changes every season, why should the label tags be left behind? While we look at fashion bibles spelling out autumn 2010’s dos and don’ts, high street designers are busy juggling every aspect of their autumn lines, from the right length of the skirt, the perfect colour and now, the right clothing labels.

Cotton replaces plastic as clothing labels look out for a greener world

So, here’s the thing… A T-shirt is no longer tagged with just a piece of plastic with a barcode stamped on it. Instead you might find an embossed shield woven onto a piece of brightly coloured fabric. A dress will be tagged with a beautiful peacock with an intricately stitched tail. The right label tag can change the perception of the buyer. It shows care and an infinite amount of detail and attention that has been paid, down to the smallest detail.

If a tag was made with so much precision, something that would most likely be discarded after purchase, imagine the detail the manufacturer must have paid to the piece of clothing itself. Imagine a gorgeous delicate set of underwear – which tag would you prefer on it, a minimal plastic one, that you’re in constant fear will snag a bit of lace and unravel the whole ensemble, or an equally delicate piece of fabric stitched and matched to the bra?

Just getting a piece of cloth to replace plastic may not be enough. Sure, you’re even doing your bit for the environment. A lot of manufacturers are now opting for specifically cotton labels. In a perfectly environmentally conscious world, even the designers have realised the potential beauty of a material that was once upon a time so plebeian.

So Hermès, usually known for their silk, has designed a line of cotton scarves for Liberty. They’re chic, affordable and, most importantly, environmentally sustainable. Using a cotton label isn?t that big a commitment, but it does make a difference. Woven labels immediately conjure up a specific outlook – someone has cared enough for their product and their environment. Companies have designers working specifically on individual clothing tags that convey a brand?s aesthetics as well as its conscience.

The next time you come home shopping with a trolley full of goodies, don’t be surprised if you find yourself snipping off the clothing tag to tuck it away in your drawer instead of tossing it into the dustbin. Who knows when inspiration strikes and you want to fill in the colouring book that came attached to your jeans or stitch on the appliqué of the multicoloured peacock on a plain white tee? Inspiration can strike from anywhere, so we won’t blame you if you pick up a pair of trousers purely because its cloth tag looked too good to pass up.

Just found out a new unique brand of t-shirt designed by artist, Richard Altman. The brand called AltmanTees. The eye-catching tees utilize bold colors and creative designs to introduce a new genre of expression to the indie tee scene.

Well, this guy is absolutely passionate about his design. Created by Sean Mort a.k.a stothemofob, The Gaming Revolution t-shirt is dazzling with tons of gaming object designs.  Well not only joysticks, there are handheld game devices too. This design, according the creator, resembles the revolution from NES era to current PS3/Wii/XBOX360 era.

If the first game handheld (and its joystick) was released in 1980, this shirt may mark the 20 years of game present. If we do analogy with human’s life, 20 years old is a transition phase from teenage to adulthood, from 8-bit era to past 128-bit era, from ROM cartridge to Blu-ray disc.

Don’t ask me why the design is made with yellow color on top of red background like a China flag, but it definitely requires patient and hard work to arrange such thing. A new t-shirt brand, Vicious History, has just launched in Massachusetts. It was created by a college student, Chaz Matses, 22 years old who choose to specialize in contemporary apparel which incorporates a vast range of historical influences into its designs. Vicious History’s purpose is to create inventive and unique apparel that allows them to share their artistic vision with their customers.

They have started out with 4 designs from some well known designers such as Keaton Henson, Killer Napkins, and Craig Robson. The Vicious History website design has dark goth style with a nicely put purple accent in it. Nice to know that they put a great effort to build their brand through their website.

I love all their t-shirts, but, my favorite t-shirt would be General Mutton tee ($20.00 $17 ~ on sale) that printed on Anvil 980 Slim Fit Tees and designed by Keaton Henson. Other design that catch my attention is Marie Antoinette ($20.00 $17 ~on sale) designed by Killer Napkins. Napkins has his own imagination of the beautiful Queen. Definitely an interesting & edgy design! Never knew that history could inspire such great looking t-shirts.

Who doesn’t know Gingerbread? The soft molasses and ginger cookie cut in various shapes (mostly in holiday-theme shapes, person shapes), sometimes elaborately decorated. Gingerbread are often sold at fairs, because these treats were holiday favorites.

The harder German-style Gingerbread is often used to build gingerbread houses similar to the “witch’s house” encountered by Hansel and Gretel. These houses, covered with a variety of candies and icing, are popular Christmas decorations, often built by children with the help of their guardians.

Tips to make the best gingerbread: Let gingerbread cool completely before you decorate it, a simple glaze of confectioners’ sugar and milk works well for decorating cookies, add extracts or citrus zest to enhance the flavor, Use liquid or paste food coloring to brighten up icing, add decorations (such as colored sugar, shredded coconut, toasted sliced almonds, chocolate and rainbow sprinkles, etc) before the icing dries, let decorated cookies stand until icing sets, about 2 hours. And you’re done.

It was founded in 2001 by 3 friends. At the time, they could only muster 1.500 Euros between them, so the first skate urban clothing collection was simply three t-shirts and a sweater.

In every single clothing line Ucon have released, they have experimented with new ideas to continue to evolve as a brand, and avoid becoming a clothing company that churns out the same old same every season. Ucon’s goal was (and still is) to stay fresh and exclusive. Ucon still works in a very similar to when they first started and their dream, to become one of the best skate urban clothing labels on the market.

What’s happened when an Art Director based in New York City created a t-shirt Line? Plink Design is the answer! Plink Design is a one man shop located in New York City dedicated to producing clear, clean and playful creations. Joseph Mueller, the owner, usually work mostly with graphic design and web mediums. Recently he branched out into screen-printing and created a line of t-shirts.

In Plink Design website, he wanted to share the first shirt of the series called Rain Drops & Rhombuses ($20). The shirts are a 2-color limited edition shirt, printed on 6oz Gildan heavy white shirts. It’s an awesome full body print t-shirt with interesting choice of colors. Forget about grey, cloudy, and rainy days! Even though the t-shirt portraying rain, but it strangely will make you happy, just by looking at it (feels like summer)! The happy tee is suitable for men and women. Love it!

New collections from FunkRush are inspired by the famous American Science Fiction TV Series, Heroes. The series tells the stories of ordinary people who discover superhuman abilities, and how these abilities take effect in the characters’ lives. It’s a great TV show! Because of Heroes, now everyone have a secret wish of having a super power (Okay, not everyone, maybe just me and more, BIG, Heroes fans).

This 3 Heroes tees feature three characters from Heroes, they are: Sylar, Claire Bennet and Hiro Nakamura. All of the tees have a retro styled print ad that is very detailed as well. Bennet Cheerleading Camp (£20) tee has a satire funny message. Sylar Tee, Clock Shop tee shirt (£20), is cool with black color and makes people curious to dial the Gabriel Gray number in it. We’re not very where Scopial is operated from and where its tee shirts will be shipped from but it has very strong India feel; T-shirts are sold using Rupee currency while the founder are all have India names.

Anyway, everyone is invited to submit their artwork to Scopia to be voted by the community members on a scale of 1 to 5. We all know how this work, community decides which designs are funny and which are not so funny, or which designs are cool and which ones are not.

You too can participate by voting other submissions. Every fortnight, a design is declared winner and the respective designers get a reward of Rs. 20,000 cash (about USD $400). The designs are printed on T-shirts before they are made available on the website for sale.

Inspired by the glammed-up side of all things grunge, Prince Peter teamed up with iconic photographer Mick Rock to create his latest collection of rocker wear. Have you ever been to London? I haven’t, but I have seen lot of London landmarks in movies, television, and Internet. James Bond is one franchise that always show London in every movie, as he’s a member of British Secret Service. From them, I recognized Big Ben, London Millennium Eye, Themes River, even the cute London taxis. Wow, I really really want to go to that city someday.

To satisfy the hunger of London, this tee design may feed you well. Made by David Bushell, It draws really well depicting London surroundings. The first time I see this Mr Typeface tee (£15) I thought, “He must be handsome, classy, and a great poetry writer!” Just look at his vest and the way he hold himself together! Mr. Typeface by Mathiole is one of winners in SwishSwosh. SwishSwosh (cute name, by the way) is a British t-shirt brand focussing on limited edition tshirts and hoodies created via an ongoing design competition. Designers can submit their design and customer can vote the t-shirt winners and buy some limited winners tees that they like. SwishSwosh only make 50 T-shirts in each size, which is pretty limited. They don’t want to just be an online retailer, but to be a community for fashionistas, designers, and creative minds. Their combined aim is to provide for the British people the most individual and cutting edge designs… ever!

Tim Burton is a well known director especially for his Gothic theme in every movie he directs. One movie that will approach us is Alice in Wonderland. Approximately, the movie will be premiered starting next week, based on the classic novel by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (under pseudonym Lewis Carroll). The actual published date of the novel was on 1865, since then there are lot of movies made based on the characters.

Another new collection from J!NX. For Spring 2010 they unveil several tees collection for men under IDentity sub-brand. What you need to know about IDentity, this fashion collection is deeply influenced by fantasy story, games, and literally anything related with skulls and zombie (hey, J!NX’s logo is skull after all).

Take a look deeper to each design. It may remind you to a movie, games, or any other geek thing you experience in life. Let me give you example, Sorcery and Technology design. Mage, Sorcerer, Wizard, you name it. Apparently, sorcerer nowadays not only using magic, but also technology. I don’t see any technology in the tees, but the title itself resembles the idea on how combining fact and fiction, old school and new school, traditional and modern.

The other thing is RPG Battleground design. Woot, RPG? Yeah, Role Playing Game is something you are familiar with, game freaks out there. Whether it is Western character or Japanese character, RPG games always amuse me — in old days, really miss that period.

This RPG Battleground tees is actually part of Fall 09 collection, but it is okay if we take a look again. Depicted Conan The Barbarian-like character that uses his heavy sword, accompanied by cute but strong lady, to fight against monstrous creatures.

On January 12, 2010, Haiti was struck by a magnitude-7.0 earthquake, the country’s most severe earthquake in over 200 years. The epicenter of the quake was just outside the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. The capital city was devastated.

It has now been weeks since the devastating quake. The latest estimate offered by the European Union citing Haitian authorities stands at 200,000 people dead and many more injured. This number is comparable in scale to the 2004 Asian tsunami, which was estimated at 230,000 people dead.

Many earthquake victims in Haiti are still dying due to the lack of medical attention, food and basic sanitary conditions. There are now reports of erupting violence and an imminent public health disaster, which might make the death toll climb even further.

Can you read the sentence written in this design? I had trouble too reading it. Apparently it’s written in Creole language, one of official language in Haiti (beside French). It reads as “Men anpil chay pa lou” and can be translated as “Many Hands Make the Load Lighter”. They can’t solve this humanity problem alone and they need us. World’s hand on this matter definitely will a relief to their pain.

I don’t recognize most of “animals” pictured in this group shot, I reckon most of them resemble “cats” (or the likes), an animal looks like “sheep”, but I can’t tell which one in specific. A group shot of animal kingdom is really we see nowadays and this t-shirt makes it happen. And it happens to when you see  shirt called Group Shot, designed by the man nicknamed mildred ~ have I mentioned that you can see his iconic signature in the back side?

While I am sort of animal lover myself, this design is actually quite creepy. I bet not all cute-loving-girls want to wear it. Despite that fact, I think this design will look cooler on men. Have you watched Zombieland? This B-movie has achieved lot of compliments from movie critics and even won the “Golden Tomato” for the highest user-rated film of 2009 from Rotten Tomatoes. What’s the fuzz about the movie? Combining zombie and comedy genre definitely not a easy task and Zombieland did it! The new tee from Original68, Human Being (£18) tries to remind us the real human inside us that sometimes forgotten. The design interprets the unique concept of Human Being. Let’s talk about Walrus! The tusks are the first thing that you notice on a walrus. They are huge canine teeth and both male and female walrus have them. The longer the walrus tusk is the more important their rank in their group. In the winter they live in the ice pack of the Bering Sea. The walrus have big whiskers. They use their whiskers to feel around until they find food. Then they blow to get the food loose or to make it move so they can get it.

I have never heard Rubik’s cube for years, until Will Smith brought it back in his Pursuit of Happyness movie. The truth is, Rubik’s cube part is purely fiction and not told in the original novel. What’s so special about this cube?
