Yesterday we celebrate Mother’s Day. FYI, in United States Mother’s Day is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May. But, in some other countries it was changed to dates that were significant to the majority religion, or to historical dates. Like Indonesian, their Mother’s day is celebrated on December 22. No matter when, no matter why. We love our mother so much, No matter what. Our love to our mother is eternal.
Well it’s pretty clear that Sean Lennon loves his Mother so much. He creates a playlist of Yoko Ono’s Music and presents it to her on Mother’s Day. Such a lovely! I think it is such a lovely too to wear this Yoko Ono’s t-shirt on Mother’s Day. We all Love Yoko Ono, don’t we?
Yoko Ono is more than a cultural icon. The legendary musician, visual artistic avant-garde, Her love life with John Lennon, Her creative activism promoting peace. She continuously makes a powerful impact to our world. Think Peace, Act Peace, Spread Peace. Happy Mother’s day, Yoko Ono
2 Many Printers doesn’t make a memorable name but it has some really good tees. It was established in Jan 2011 and started as a screen printing company but decided the direction for the company was to go towards tee shirts and collaborate with upcoming and known artists, it incorporates many different styles of work.
Some says wearing tee shirts is a matter of expressing oneself while other says you can be a standing, alive canvas of any visual arts that carry implicit messages simple by wearing one. In this case, Blonde Grizzly and its featured artist has produce T-shirt that satisfy both opinion.
Berlin, Germany-based Dudes Factory is not different with Spreadshirt or Shirtcity when it comes to on-demand T-shirt designing tool which they call LAB. But what makes it different is how it expand its business by tapping into talented graphic artist with monthly new artist invited to contribute a design or two for Dudes Factory new collection. With user-friendly tool provided, anyone can design a tee shirt by combining elements created by those artists and designers so that they can come up with their own individual Dudes products.
One of the highlighted item from Dudes Factory collection, as we found on Mintees (an online tee shirt designer community) is a tee shirt called Drink Pirates:
We’re all can relate to Blob Sleep. Every weekend (or maybe every day in the whole week) we sometimes get the feeling that we’re sinking into bed from being so tired. Maybe it’s from a food coma, or a late night-early morning excursion, or simply exhausted! This t-shirt designed by Brendan Monroe from Red Choo Choo, that printed using water based inks on super soft Anvil preshrunk, can get you instantly in the mood and float into a beautiful dream.
Hey, don’t sleep just yet! Red Choo Choo is an independent online retailer located in San Francisco, mainly promoting timeless and unique designs. They’re as timeless as you can see at Library Card tee shirt ($25). Maybe we don’t go to the library anymore (or do you?), but the memory of the library card is still pretty much in our head. This t-shirt would be a nice gift for your old friends: for the sake of ‘old times’. Enjoy the t-shirt best with a bunch of books and a nice coffee!
As a Jazz music lover, my favorite would be the True Souls Jazz T-shirt ($25 $20). Brave colors with amazing typography styled design. Way to go!
Behind Red Choo Choo timeless and unique designs, there are some talented artists like Brendan Monroe, Evany Thomas, Amelia Bauer, Darren Kani, Heidi Meredith, and Greg ‘Pnut’ Galinsky promoting good and clean design. Check out more of their designs on Red Choo Choo shop section!
I always easily fall in love with full illustration t-shirts, and these tees from MonsterThreads, that offers not only full illustration but also edgy style, has won my attention immediately. Check out this cute tee shirt with big Owl in boxer illustration. You’ll like it for the concept, for the perfect illustration, good colors, and nice 100% cotton tee.
Who knew! MonsterThreads is build from the collaboration of international illustrators and designers such as g.s.f. (a colab based in Bangkok), Nicolas Gouny (France guy), Jacqueline Pytyck (based in Canada) and Raquel Aparicio (Spain). Monsterthreads pay no attention to trends, focusing instead on mixing fun and sophistication to constantly create exciting and original collections, season after season. Good job guys!
Another great t-shirt by MonsterThreads is Ace. It’s like putting the Ace card in a t-shirt, only, using the more contemporary illustration style. The result is a very sophisticated and unique t-shirt to wear!
My favorite from all of MonsterThreads t-shirts is Hanging Thing. Basically a different point of view of designing a tee. The illustration is actually drawn to ‘hang’ around the t-shirt neck line. That’s awesome!
Monsterthreads is also producing a range of high quality apparel including tee shirts, singlets and hoodies. Which one you like best?
When the best visual artists from around the world come to work together for a huge collaboration to create clothing designs, they’re trying to change the way you see a T-shirt — from just a graphic-tee that makes you look better to wearable pieces of art with a story behind it. This is when Hizoku self-proclaims its stand as a physical representation of the creative human spirit.
For me, every design printed on Hizoku tee is like a snapshot long series of fictional stories. In fact, this is what they did: divided tees collection into few sets such as Virtue series, Legend series, Monster Blood series, and Hizoku Logo series. In regard to its graphic style… I suspect, the artists have some experience as comics illustrators (especially for Legend and Monster Blood series). Enough said, now check out some photo shots that show their breath taking designs
Currently, Hizoku tees are sold for $20 (during Back-to-School sale) with some additional promotions to enjoy e.g. buy 10 tees and get discount of 20%; Free Shipping for orders with total value of over $75 (US only). Going forward, there will be at least 3 new designs every month printed on Tee shirts and posters. Too poor to catch all those monthly new tees? You might want to apply as their Street Team to get Hizoku shirts for free!
