Here’s the fun fact for you to know about Gorillaz. Gorillaz is the most successful virtual band according to Guinness Book of World Record. They don’t even exist! Well I mean, they’re cartoon heroes but off course Damon Albarn (blur frontman) and Jamie Hewlett (illustrator) appeared real. These two badass guys were behind this Project, they’re created the most unique and “out of the box” band that ever alive.

Chemistry is a subject that requires a lot of time and works, everybody knows that. When I was in school, I was a little worried about math and science even if a lot of people believe that chemistry is the most fun subject yet in reality I found it to be most difficult subject in school.

I used to feel like a greatest scientist, then mix lemonade mixes (citric acid) and baking soda in “just the right” amounts, suddenly I can make a fizzy mix! Don’t forget about optimizing soap and water to be soap bubble. Yay, who doesn’t like soap bubble! But not all teachers can teach chemistry in fun way, so unfortunately (or fortunately?) — I didn’t choose chemistry as my major.

It’s Avenger Time!

What time is it? It’s AVENGER TIME on a shirt! With Jake the dog and Finn the human, we’ll go to very distant lands and the fun will never end. If the Avengers are Earth’s mightiest heroes, and Adventure Time‘s Jake and Finn are the bravest adventurers of the post-apocalypse, what happens when they meet face to face?

This shirt reminds me of Cartoon Network’s Mad animated show, the Avengers travel through their cartoon history until they’re suddenly thrust into the surreal Land of Ooo. And here it goes, AVENGER TIME in action and tee shirt in dude’s version:

Casting Shadows by Doctor Facilier

This was an illustration of Doctor Facilier: Casting Shadows by Bert Segunial a.k.a b3ef, an illustrator from Philippines which lived in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Doctor Facilier, a.k.a the Shadow Man, is the main villain in The Princess and the Frog and he personifies the Deadly Sin of Greed and Gluttony, for his desire for money and power. Facilier is a smooth-talker of drama and showmanship, and a glutton for power. Facilier controlling and vindictive, doing whatever he can to get what he wants. Facilier’s shadow acts as a familiar and is capable of moving on its own, being able to separate itself from him for a short while as well as changing its shape and size.

Threadless Loves Toy Story

It started in 1988, John Lasseter – co-founder of Pixar and former Walt Disney animator – and Pixar wrote, produced and directed a short film called Tin Toy.

This was the fourth Pixar film to be made using only computer animation and it won the 1988 Academy Award for Animated Short Film. In the 90s, Disney approached John Lasseter to create a sequel to Tin Toy, a Christmas special. Pixar, thinking 6 minutes wasn’t enough, asked Disney if they could make it 30 minutes. When President of Walt Disney Studios Peter Schneider heard about this, he suggested they make it full-length instead. Many of the employees at Pixar were surprised. And kids, that was the story how Toy Story was made.

Come Away with Me, Cinderella.

Well, Karen Hallion (on her recently printed Threadless tee shirt) might be playing as Cinderella’s fairy Godmother, bestows upon Cinderella a blue dress with glass slippers.

But instead going to the hall, this tee shirt illustrated how Cinderella choose to runaway with The Doctor, an eccentric alien traveller of great intelligence who battled injustice while exploring time and space in the “TARDIS” — a famous time machine from a classical BBC series, Doctor Who (first appear in 1963, if you notice) which around that time Cinderella, one of representative of classic Walt Disney’s character, was born. The brilliant thing behind this design is how Karen collades the two worlds of fantasy.

The Austrian Cartoonist is Nerd, She Loves Ninjas

Anna-Maria Jung is an Austrian cartoonist, nerd (oh yeah!) and illustrator, born in 1984, and most of her art and tee shirt design are mostly inspired by movies, cartoons, comics, ninja(!) and other narrative media — such as Squinjas!, A Day in the Life and, Pop Culture Clash. She earn most of its from Threadless community while setting up her RedBubble tee store as well.

At the age of 18 she published her first graphic novel “Urbanity” in Austria and since then she has produced various comics and illustrations for comic anthologies in Germany and Austria, published two of her own comics and worked on four animated shorts, one of them in Scotland and one in New York City in cooperation with independent animator Bill Plympton.

In 1886, James Orchard Halliwell-Phillipps tells us that Big Bad Wolf unable to destroy the third pig’s house that made of bricks. It would seem the three little pigs are safe for the last two centuries, until the wolf gets his paws on a bunch of exploding super-angry birds. Well, I think only Scro can thing about it, through a tee shirt he designed for LaFraise.

Who doesn’t love Bill Murray? I love him. The american actor and comedia who was famous for his role on movies such as Caddyshack (1980), Ghostbusters (1984), and Groundhog Day (1993) already entertained us in some many other roles. As much as I love him, Derek Eads is showing his love by creating lovely Bill Murray’s Filmography T-shirt art — drawing Bill’s appearance who each movie he acted. The Calvin and Hobbes Mashups Tee Shirts

Steve Harris of Bluebutter designs everything about pop culture tees with contemporary and retrospective reference to movies, tv, gaming, art and literature. As the designer he try to look at a movie and give it a twist. One of design collection that caught my eyes (and already blogged by some tees bloggers) is The Calvin and Hobbes Mashups. I love the idea to see Back to the Future or Batman in a cute and familiar way — the The Calvin and Hobbes-alike. Steve told me that he loved Calvin and Hobbes as a kid, and couldn’t resist the opportunity to use this style as a format for movie and tv culture.
