I think that’s absolutely right for Threadless to start competition with a single theme: “simple” — in an undebatable purpose, to uncomplicate things. The design competition required only bold colors to make the simplest design we can and maximum of 3 colors — regardless of your design: clever, funny, or just plain pretty.
