What Did They Say? Pyknic, Ed Hardy, Chris Rushing and More…

If you’re a fan of Pyknic then I am sure that you will not be disappointed with the new line, it’s just more Pyknic food and utensil goodness

CotyGonzales spotted new tees by Pyknic
Move like a ghost in the night through the club and scare up some hotties in this Ed Hardy® Wave Ghost Specialty Tee.

A guy at Zappos thought it was a good reason to buy Ed hardy’s tee
While browsing through emptees today I found this really awesome t-shirt designer with some really cool tees that I would definitely wear.

Abduzeedo spotted artsy graphic tees Chris Rushing, thanks to Emptees
The designs immediately caught my eye and not without a reason, since they’re done by some pretty cool artists like Wotto or Dale Edwin Murray, so quality is guaranteed…

Katrina of T-shirt Around talked about some cool T-shirts by Full Metal
seriously, folks, this one’s a must for gamers!

We’re giving away this vintage t-shirt from the legendary GNR & Metallica tour in 1992

Can I Have Bigger Size for This Tee? No, Seriously.

What if 800-pound gorilla decide to take off his tee and give it to little shrimp as a gift? Of course little shrimp will wear it because she believes that her gorilla friend knows a lot about fashion.
I’m not trying to be snarky here but that was my first thought when I see BBon-J‘s (Super) Loose-fit, Long-sleeve Tee-Shirt Dress. It’s just so XXXXL. The rectangle-shape tee (to the nearest silhouette) is perfect wardrobe to make a big impact, creating a unique and distinctive style you can’t ask for more — I mean, no more bigger size. Available in white and black color, this fashion tee is matched best with legging and high-heel shoe.

With This Tee, I’m Saying to Myself: "Keep Up The Good Work!"

Vintage Vantage has one rare feel-good T-shirt that really got my attention. Designed with flipped effect, slogan “Keep Up The Good Work” works well when you’re facing the mirror and read it out loud. Say it once with smile, say it twice and laugh — repeat as necessary. After putting so much work on current your projects, you will feel the world is in your hand.
Wearing this tee to a party will only spread the feel-good effect to your dudes. Its super-bright neon print (promised to be brighter than it appears in these pics) on black shirt does look great under low light. Feel it for $19.50; both boys and girls can have it.

T-shirt That Will Save Your Life in Case of Zombie Attack

There’s nothing worse than zombie attack, especially if you’re unprepared and nobody come to help you — not even Resident Evil‘s Alice (oh, I wish she could!). But don’t be scared, calm down, and be sure to know what to do to escape from the nightmare. Don’t know what to do? Zombie Survival Plan T-shirt helps you steps need to be taken with step by step in case of Zombie attack: 1) Gather Weapons. Step; 2) Acquire Transportation; 3) Locate Friends and Family; 4) Cure the Infection One Bullet at a Time.
Don’t get me wrong. Wearing this tee won’t not make you a left4dead hero, but at least you’re ready when the horde attacks. Grab this tee from Crazy Dog Tshirts for $14.99, not available in zombie’s size.
Now let me ask you; what’s your first plan to survive a zombie attack?

Store Your T-shirts Carefully, This is How You Should do it

There are more than single ways to store your tee. One style might no better than another, but it’s good to know how others taking care of their tee. In most cases it, each method is a personal choice, sometimes based on the amount of storage space a person has and sometimes based on other reasons. So, after you read this article, please don’t fight with people if you don’t like the way they store their tee.
Store by folding
This is one popular method indeed, which I use as well. One thing to note is, to keep your shirts from wrinkling, you should fold properly using the following technique — not me intvented, but this is the most common technique:
Hold each sleeve in your hands with the T-shirt facing towards you. Then fold the sleeves inward with a crease forming at mid-shoulder. Doing this will cause the outer sides of the torso to fold also. By now you should have an almost rectangular shape to fold either in half or in thirds, depending on your own preference and storage space. A plastic folding board may also be a useful thing to have on hand to help ensure neat folding. Another folding technique from Japan is as shown on this video.
Special attention should be given to graphic art T-shirts printed with bad print quality. Avoid folding the shirt so that print is not folded over on itself, unless you want the prints stick together a little and causing you to pull it apart when the time comes to wear it. Such action over time may cause additional wear and tear on the print and it may not last as long as you would like. Some of you even go further by checking print quality everytime you buy a T-shirt. Quality of screen printed tees are usually better than tees that is printed with other methods.

Store by hanging
If you choose to use this methoed, keep in mind that you need to place your tee straight on the hanger. This is important to avoid wrinkles and avoid it falling off the hanger. I suggest you to use padded hangers which best to avoid bumps and dents in the shoulders of your shirts. Plastic and wooden hangers are bothe acceptable, I only say “NO” to wire hangers. Do rotate your T-shirts regularly, so that none of them stay hanging in your closet unused for too long. Advantage of hanging your tee, assuming you iron your T-shirts, is that it ensures that they remain wrinkle-free.
Store by rolling
This technique is a little bit unusual but works particularly well when you have a tight space or when you travel — and have to pack them into a suitcase. I notice some retailers store their tees using this technique as well. How they do it? Simply fold the arms of the T-shirt inward mid-shoulder, like in the folding instructions. Starting from the tail of the shirt, roll it into a neat cylinder shape. After doing a little bit research, I found that there are few rolling techniques which I won’t go into the detail for each of them.
Once again, there is no right or wrong way to store your T-shirts. Simply use any that works best for you. Which T-shirt storing technique do you use?

Splattered-Paint Makes a Really Good T-shirt

Tee shirt with splattered-paint pattern never failed to make me bored, especially if they get the color right. Not this time. Lira’s splatter tee comes in two color combinations, torquoise-black/white splatter and black-white/purple splatter, and both look great with water-base print technique. Do check out the product page to get closer look and see the water ink. Too bad the pattern only be printed on the front side, I wish it was all over print.
Check out more Lira tees on Karmaloop’s Kazbah department over here.

Bears are Gangsta; and Still #1 Threat to America

When many people see bears are the number one threat to America, UK-based clothing label Lazy Oaf think bears are just hilarious animal who knows how to make fun out of some people’s bear-phobia. Other than that, I think bear is the real gangsta of the zoo — maybe a little bit look like a pimp.
Do you like this tee? Unfortunately, it will never be sold in any North America shop, but you can buy online from Lazy Oaf online shop. Let’s make friend with bears!

Eldon Gets Her Facial Expression Printed on V-neck Tee

Submit T-shirt (don’t ask me how they came up with this name) is one of the latest t-shirt by Eldon. Not much to talk about this tee except that the lovely anime-style graphic art.
This black color short sleeve features a woman face, pretty much with her lust facial-expression — that’s if I’m not interpret it wrongly — drawn simply and yet sophisticated. Take a close look and you can see random pattern on her face. Just nice!
This V-neck, 100% cotton, tee is sold for $24.99 at Tilly’s. Grab her over here.

I Only Love My Tee Shirt, You Only Love Yours

Stop staring at your friend’s tee and be proud of that piece your wear. You know you only buy tee you love and you’re attached to it — so don’t ever think of having an affair with other tee. I can’t imagine you sneak into your friend’s room and quitely borrow his/her tee and letting your own tees down. So please don’t.
La Fraise’s Bony and Cloud T-shirt (19 euros) can be something I can dream of as an official merchandise for “love your own Tee shirt” campaign. I campaign about me loving my tee shirt, you loving your own tee and saying no to T-shirt exchange!
Let’s love only what we have and wear.
This campaign may only be started by our european friends since La Fraise don’t ship its tee worldwide. Ugh, La Fraise makes me hard to love their tees.

Ontour Spring/Summer ’09 collection: Let’s Love the Night!

“Tonight” is what make up the Spring/Summer ’09 Ontour collection. Where the freaks come out, when the moonlight is so bright… Ontour’s collection is at its best. That’s te idea. Grey, black and navy/blue are the dominating color, but it’s the curves, unusual cut-and-sew and subtle garments that shape the look of every piece of the collection.
My favorite is this catchy-design, typography-logo tee of Ontour (or another version which portrays the beauty of lunar eclipse in black/white color). There’s one mysterius tee which is also quite interesting — at least until I know why it’s entitled Invisible Stripes when there’s apparently no stripe on it.
Get the complete look on Ontour website. Anyone know which streetwear online store which sell the latest Ontour collection? I only find Limitees’ doing so.

Streetwear Culture Has a Foreign Family

Los Angeles-based streetwear label, Foreign Family, was started in summer of 2005 — by duo Chad and MR44 — as a brand that wanted to be known for originality and intricate hand-drawn designs. In pursuing this goal, Foreign Family decided to create their own hand-drawn artworks for every tee printed, foster their own dedicated following, build international customer base right from beginning while delving into garment production (ie. “cut & sew”).
Foreign Family is also diligent enought to collaborate with other brands. They recently run its Artist Series which includes T-shirts designed by Bobby Hundreds (from The Hundreds), Hannah Stouffer, Shing02 (a Japanese Hip-Hop Musician) and Javier Rodriguez (a Tattoo Artist based in Barcelona).

Oh yeah, they’re currently having a shop-wide sale from today until April 6th — and kind enough to create small banner for Cottonable readers. 25% Off with coupon code: COTTONABLE. They are yours now!

What Did They Say!?

What did they say this week? Mystery pack, Canadian or fashion T-shirt — Bloggers are speaking about T-shirts they found this week.
“Usually, I don’t suggest grab bags and similar deals because of bad experience in the past, but given the fact that we’re talking about Concrete Hermit shirts, I think your chances look pretty good.”

Katrina of T-shirt Around the Internet commented mystery pack from Concrete Hermit.
“…if you have seen the Canadian commercial, you can sympathize a little bit of all Canadian stereotypes which is why I love this t-shirt. Canadians are people too!”

France on The Daily Tee spoke as Canadian about Canadian T-shirt.
“In this episode I wear The Early Worm Gets The Bird by Jim Gray and available at Shirt.Woot and review Buddha designed by Faith By Design for {miles to go} Clothing, a brand independently operated by Greg Kerr and popular amongst those in the indie apparel and merchandise scene.”

Coty Gonzales on preview of his own show, Co-tee TV Episode 12.
“Choosing to do things right and develop their own t-shirt fabric from scratch, combining clever slogans and quirky graphics has made them a force to reckon with for close to eight years.”

Mike Giles of CoolHunting on opening paragraph of interview summary with John of Vintage Vantage
“Once again mastermind Japan worked on a series of product as part of their Theater8 initiative. This time Zero II (Fatal Frame) was the collaborator. mastermind Japan produced a t-shirt, baseball jacket, boots and a wallet, as usual all decorated with their skull bones logo.”
“T-Shirts have taken over the runway and are not just for lounging on the couch anymore. According to the style experts at Phoenix Fashion Week, with this new trend less is more.”

Denise Naughton on fashionable T-shirts. Agree or not, that was what an “expert” think.

ThisNext & Cottonable, My First Gallery of Men Style

Men Style
I’ve been a member of social shopping website,
ThisNext, since 2006. In fact I was awarded as Maven (kind of “power/loyal user”) in 2008. It was quite fun although I got nothing much but free sample of products from sponsors and few new “online” friends.

Anyway, I haven’t put ThisNext feature in good use despite being long time member other than using it as bookmark tool of cool stuff I found while browsing. This morning, I got an idea how to use ThisNext Blogit feature on this blog.
I will showcase things I found browsing and publish as one post them in image gallery-style like you see above. I’ll share between 9 or 12 product images per post, categorised in either Men Style or Women Style. More on T-shirts but also on other apparels like shirts, long sleeves, denim, (maybe) sneakers, etc.
Further down, I plan to make galleries into specific theme like “12 stunning yellow color tops this Spring” or “10 Flattering black and white t-shirts”. Sounds cool, eh? Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestion.

ShirtFight Gets a New Winner. Few Other Monsters for Your T-shirt.

ShirtFight gets a new T-shirts: You might need more than a nightlight this time… with original design submitted by Evanimal. As you see on the picture above, this tee is about your scariest childhood nightmares — monsters under your bed! This tee currently on sold for $15 (discounted price). The design printed using 5 color Plastisol inks on American Apparel black tee.

I first mentioned ShirtFight about few weeks ago before their launch on 5th March. ShirtFight aims to be the next popular T-shirt design competition of the internet (which is almost synanymous to Threadless). I was pretty excited prior to launch but not so much after that. I’m not saying that all three initial tees are bad (well, the first tee is not that good but I respect ShirtFight’s members vote) but it seems like ShirtFight’s designs can’t get around of incredible monsters and weird-creatures.

I really hope to see more variety next time around.
Update (3/27)
New tee shirt is up! I like this one, still “monsterous” but less ugly with sleeker color combination. Spirit Quest T-shirt is a new ShirtFight winning design, submitted by Zipperking — it’s currently up for sale for $15 (discounted price). Image below:

Shirtcity Gets a New Website. Less T-shirts Means more Satisfaction.

Hey, I just noticed this: Shirtcity gets a new look. The new website is cleaner and simpler but more appealing. More info about the new website can be read on Shirtcity’s blog. Shirtcity takes the right direction of showcasing design created by its members-designers. Instead of putting all designs and resulting in cluttered pages, it shows only few best (hand picked I believe) T-shirts.
One of my favorite features of the new website is that you can choose tees based on topic of the design like “adult”, “for geeks”, “holidays”, “celebrities”, “love” and as I said, you will get a handful selected designs from each topic. Even better, these designs presented nicely with models wearing instead of just just preview of designs.
If you see CafePress website, it’s actually what they do as well. CafePress is now putting handful tees good designs the front page and the rest (those ugly ones) behind. These designs hit your face directly when you land on its homepage — often referred as hot design from our community. I guess they are designed by professional graphic designers, not those tee designer-wannabes who dominate the profile types of CafePress sellers.
The era of “check it out here! We have the most designs” is over. People don’t need more designs, people need only good designs. Try yourself at Shirtcity.

OMG, It’s Threadless Spring Cleaning Sale!!!

I know you don’t want to miss this. $5 bucks each for Threadless‘ past collection. What could be better? And it has been about 1 days running. Although there are few days to go before Spring Sale ends on Monday, (23th March) you know Threadless-hunter can’t wait till last minute to buy.
I won’t be participate on this bargain hunting though, since I’ve spent a lot on previous sale. It was at the end of last year during holidays season.
My experience was, some of $5 tees come in bad quality but not all of my total order. Well, it was about 70-30 between good and bad. But my money was worth spent. Of course, you can always return them if you’re not happy.
